I can teach you the ins-and-outs of React.js, how to control state with Redux, how to be a more efficient Vim user, or expose you to functional programming with Clojure.

I have been teaching Clojure for the past seven years and have been working professionally in the language for five. I'm passionate about Clojure and functional programming and would love to help you learn more.

I am new to CodeMentor, but an old-timer in mentoring. I have been teaching programming in C, Python and PHP since 2000, and I have a web programming course at a Hungarian university since 2009. I am most proficient in Python, Clojure and C, and I also have years of experience in PHP and JavaScript as well. I am an expert in video streaming technologies, and have a weird interest in Git internals.

Seasoned freelance software developer based in Boston, Massachusetts, with well over a decade of experience as both a technical lead and primary contributor. I'm a developer with over 10 years of experience in full-stack web development, and I worked professionally as a mentor for 4 years helping hundreds of students at Lighthouse Labs, one of the leading web dev bootcamps in Canada, aiding them with everything from programming fundamentals to planning, implementing and debugging complex final projects. I'm an expert in the art of dropping in to help on a tricky problem in progress, with a codebase and often frameworks, libraries or APIs I've never used before, and providing the right mix of guidance (both technical and tactical—teaching how one can go about getting unstuck now and in the future), tutoring, exploring together the code or the various documentations, or teaching important debugging skills. If you're working on learning, whether you're new to coding altogether or you're adding a new skill, I can help you work through demo projects, brush up on coding concepts, or define your own goals so you can learn the skills you need for whatever you want to do. I'm open to taking on more long-term mentees! I'm especially interested in front-end app development, web APIs (both implementing endpoints—i.e.servers—and integrating with existing APIs). I'm knowledgeable about functional programming styles and concepts, as well as how some of those concepts can be used to improve some imperative code. I can help you with your dev tools and workflow, and get more from your commandline, editor, REPL, and tests. I also have a deep understanding of git and can help untangle you when you think you really messed up your git repo (you *probably* didn't). Feel free to send me a message!

I’m a full stack Clojure(Script) developer coming originally from the JVM/JS land, coding professionally since 2005. During the years I have worked on projects large and small, long and short, local and international - and I have been scarred by too much legacy code. I care deeply about productivity (and thus Clojure and DevOps) and quality and enjoy sharing my discoveries on [my blog](https://blog.jakubholy.net/). I love helping people and really enjoy mentoring and pair-programming. I enjoy working with people, sharing knowledge, being creative and exploring new stuff. I don’t like tedious, repetitive work (though it really is sometimes necessary) and am thus a big fan of automation and tools that can take it over. Having maintained a lot of old code, I really appreciate high-quality, well-written code and good and automated unit tests. I am especially interested in developer productivity, DevOps, testing, and performance. I’m also very fond of the lean thinking and agile principles, especially feedback-based development, focus on creating true value ASAP, and respect for people. I am fascinated by post-taylorist organizations that value autonomy and human needs over command & control, such as Zappos. The longer I work in IT, the more I see software development as a human, not a technical problem. A while ago I fell in love with Clojure[Script] and functional programming and the productivity it offers. I’ve summarized crucial aspects of my approach to development in [Frustration-Driven Development – Towards DevOps, Lean, Clojure](https://blog.jakubholy.net/2014/03/17/frustration-driven-development-towards-devops-lean-clojure/).

“I highly appreciate the support during my algorithms midterm preparation. The teaching approach was thorough and interactive, prioritizing a step-by-step understanding of complex topics. Furthermore, the PDF summary provided at the end is an excellent review resource, as he specifically pointed out the fundamental gaps in my knowledge, which was great“

“Antonin is clearly an Expert in Flutter and guided me in making changes to my architecture that were needed to resolve some bugs that I was struggling with for days. I had already hired several others to try to solve these bugs but they did not get to the root of the issue or provide the level of explanation and understanding that Antonin did. He prepared for the session based on some preliminary info that I sent and even made two diagrams for me in advance. He is passionate about teaching and mentoring, and I was really grateful to have found him“
