I jumped very early on Node.js, built the first open-source Node module for AWS and developed dozens of APIs for web and mobile apps since then. Having worked with Express for a long time, Hapi has become my framework of choice.

For lean product launches I prefer Heroku but with growing backend complexity AWS is hard to beat. I've built deployment automation involving a number of AWS products like EC2, VPC, Lambda and ECS - while painful at start I find CloudFormation to be the best solution to maintain an AWS infrastructure at scale.
